instrumentals

A selection of our instrumental work that nods at music from  the TV and radio we grew up with: Vernon Elliott’s brilliant scores for the work of Oliver Postgate, the soundtracks to public information films, Children’s Film Foundation work and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

Whistlin’ The Blues is our nod to Grinderswitch, a fairly obscure blues band whose main claim to fame was that their recording of Pickin’ the Blues was used as the theme to the marvelous John Peel Show on BBC Radio 1.

Jumble Sale harks back to the very British light music of the 1950s and 60s, Ronnie Hazlehurst and even the Brit-brass-neck of Benjamin Britten.  In contrast, Social Detective brings the 70’s American cop show theme up to date.
